If you have cancer and learned there was a wonder drug that could save your life, would you take it? Would you invest in this drug that increases cancer survival by 50 percent?
That extraordinary drug is exercise. We, at the Cancer Foundation For Life® have been administering this drug for more than 13 years. Through our FitSTEPS for Life® program we have seen that exercise delivers unprecedented and immediate benefits to cancer patients both emotionally and physically.
Established in 2001, the Cancer Foundation For Life® is the only-known nonprofit organization that offers an evidence-based, community cancer rehabilitation program in the United States that is free for the patient’s lifetime. FitSTEPS for Life® is designed to assist cancer survivors in achieving and maintaining as much functional mobility and endurance as possible during their cancer experience.
Cancer Foundation For Life®’s mission is to enhance the quality of life and survival for individuals living with cancer, while also empowering cancer survivors to participate in their journey to recovery. Our staff provides them with tools at diagnosis, during and after treatment, to remain active throughout life and empowers their families to live fuller lives by providing them with education, compassionate care and support.
Identity is one of the greatest benefits of FitSTEPS for Life®. Participants become part of a community with cancer survivors experiencing similar challenges—someone who really walks in their shoes. Every day, we at CFFL renew our commitment to our core values of caring, integrity and discovery. As we continue to improve the quality of life for many cancer survivors, you can rest assured we’ll be both at the forefront and by your side.
We transform cancer patients one step at a time.
